Multiaxial Fabrics
Multiaxial Fabrics
Multiaxial reinforcements also known as Non-Crimp Fabrics (NCF) are produced from plies of parallel fibres, each laying in different orientations or axes. The composite reinforcements are made of Glass, Carbon and Aramid.
Multiaxial Fabrics
Multi-Axis Fibers have a multi-layered structure that is connected to each other in the direction of 0˚ / 90˚ or + 45˚ / -45˚, using polyester sewing threads. Alternative angles are available on request.
The Benefits;
Biaxial Carbon Fabrics, Biaxial Glass Fabrics
- Improved mechanical properties
- Improved resistance to fatigue and impact
- Improved stability even when cut – Biaxial
- Can be supplied as a high drape fabric (+/-45˚)
- Improves surface finish (print through) is often achieved using a +/-45˚ structure
Bidirectional Carbon Fabrics, Biaxial Glass Fabrics,
- Ease of wet out
- Drapability
Triaxial Carbon Fabrics, Triaxial Glass Fabrics,
- Increase in areal weights
- Increase in torsional rigidity, longitudinal (0˚ 4/-45˚ or transvers 90˚ +/-45˚)
Quadriaxial Carbon Fabric, Quadriaxial Glass Fabrics
- Reduction in the number of layers
- Can design strength in all directions
- Improving process speeds
Unidirectional Carbon Fabrics, Unidirectional Glass Fabrics
- Higher areal weights (up to 2,000g per square meter and beyond)
- Enhanced performance in infusion processes where resin will flow more easily through the various layers
